Surf Hats

Posted by admin

The wool i used for these hats is hard to describe. I have searched the net to find a name for it but still no luck. It’s a medium sized wool, which feels and looks like terry toweling. I noticed once changing colours on my innovations machine it created a wave pattern hence why I call them surf hats. The pattern for these are quite easy.

Mans Hat

16 rounds Red, 8 rounds Black, 16 Rounds Red, 8 rounds black, 16 rounds Red, 16 rounds Black. The last round of black will curl up giving you the same height stripe as the others. Uses 2 x Red 50g and 1 x Black 50g.

Womans Hat

16 Rounds pink, 8 rounds Purple, 16 Rounds Pink, 8 Rounds Purple, 16 Rounds Pink.  Uses 1 and 1/2 x 50g Pink and 1 Purple 50g.

Josh’s Scarf

Posted by admin

This Scarf I started knitting for my boyfriend about a month ago. It’s a real pain in the bum because of all the colour changing, but once it’s finished it will look really good. The squiggles and the checkered flag pattern isn’t too hard to do if you have a bit of patience.
Squiggles: using two different wool colours, K2 with one colour pull the other colour with you K2 and keep working through the row like that. On the back of your work you should see dashes going across your project.
Checkers: Same concept except you will do it in knit and purl, just make sure your knitting opposite to the row you did b4 (Start the row with the opposite colour you ended the last row with.) I will be making a back for this scarf so it hides the messy backing.

I got a pattern off the internet that was horribly written so I decided to spruce it up and make it my own. I will post it shortly but I love the fan stitch even begginer knitters could have a go at this…

R1: P2tog 3 times, (yo,k1) 6 times, p2 tog 6times, last 12 stitches (yo,k1) 6 times then p2tog 3 times.

R2: Purl

Bat Baby Hoodie

Posted by admin

A couple of weeks ago I started knitting a baby jumper with the batman logo on the front. I’m close to finishing it but unfortunately it didnt measure up exactly the way I wanted it too. Nevertheless I am going to take the experience with me and put it into a superman hoody. I will upload a picture soon and when i get some spare time i’ll type out the pattern.
